Wienerberger India’s Kunigal plant has achieved another milestone in the journey towards sustainability and eco-consciousness. CII (The Confederation of Indian Industry) has conferred Greenco Silver Rating to Wienerberger India’s Kunigal plant along with a cash prize of € 2,250. This award recognizes Kunigal plant’s exemplary commitment towards integrating sustainability into its core business strategy and fostering a culture of responsible manufacturing.

Established in 1895, CII is India’s premier business association, with a direct membership of over 9,000 and indirect membership of over 3,00,000 organisations from the private as well as public sectors. It works to create an enabling environment for industry growth & development in India.

To evaluate the environmental performance of a company, CII has introduced GreenCo Rating which is a holistic assessment that rigorously evaluates a company’s activities under different parameters including energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, GHG emissions, waste management, green infrastructure, ecology among others. Kunigal plant has successfully completed a detailed audit conducted by experts from CII on all the above parameters based on which this rating has been awarded.

The Silver Rating is a testament to Wienerberger India’s efforts to minimize its environmental footprint while at the same time maximizing operational efficiency. Achieving this accolade once again underscores the company’s commitment towards a sustainable future.
