maximios October 30, 2020

There are several factors one must keep in mind before painting the walls of their house and one of these factors is the science of vastu. According to vastu shastra, wall colors of a house have a significant impact on the mindset of the people living in it. When a house is designed, most architects and builders keep in mind the principles of vastu before creating the blueprint. Similarly, interior decorators are now taking into consideration the principles of vastu before finalizing the color scheme of a house. We have here for you some points that you can consider if you are about to paint or renovate your house.

According to vastu shastra, every direction and sub-direction is associated with a color and it becomes the influencing vastu color for that particular direction. Each direction has a different color that harnesses its energy the most but that color may or may not suit the owner of the house. One must keep a balance between the color scheme as per the direction and as per the people living in the house.

Vastu color scheme as per directions

  • East – White or light blue
  • West – It is the direction of water hence the best colors are blue or white
  • North – Green, pista green
  • South – Red and yellow
  • North-east – Light blue
  • South-east – This is the direction of fire and colors like orange, pink and silver enhance this warmth
  • North-west – This direction is associated with air and colors like white, light grey and cream are best suited for walls facing this direction
  • South-west – Peach, mud color, biscuit color or light brown

Colors like black, red and pink are strong colors and may not suit every person hence they must be picked with caution
