Ways To Make Your Household Things Last Longer

The frequent rise in prices of all the necessary household commodities makes us realise the importance of maintaining home appliances. 2. Washing Machine:

Washing Machine is an appliance which works fast to clean clothes within an hour. To make sure that it works well for a long time, you should keep certain things in mind. To prevent moisture from collecting on the drum and give the machine a chance to dry, you should keep the door of the machine open when it’s not in use.

3. Micro Wave:

Keeping the microwave clean, consistently, is the finest way to keep it out of disorder. After using it every time, wipe the insides of the microwave. It will remove odour from food and will prevent any particles from settling in corners or hard-to-reach places. If a grease filter is there in your microwave, examine it to make sure whether it needs to be replaced or not.

4. Refrigerator:

The easily accessible mechanical part of Refrigerator, the condenser coil,  which is located at the back of the fridge, needs to be paid due attention for cleaning. As dust and dirt settles on the coil with time, it appears as a hindrance in efficiency of the refrigerator. Thus, it is an obvious fact that you need to clean the coils of the refrigerator, regularly so that it remains in an efficient state. 5. Dishwasher:

Cleaning a dishwasher may appear as a task, but it is necessary to take care of cleanliness of the dishwasher as of other home appliances. When you open up the dishwasher and look at the top, you can find that this is the area that seals up beneath your kitchen counter top. In the absence of regular cleaning, it impacts how effectively your door is sealed in water and heat. With the passage of time the food of the washed utensils remains stuck inside the dishwasher due to no regular cleaning, reducing its efficiency. Also, in the case, the dishwasher is not used for a certain time, the seals inside it may crack leading to water seep into the kitchen. To avoid this you can pour some mineral oil into the bottom of the dishwasher to keep the seals properly moisturized.

6. Cell Phones:

Cell phones have a pivotal role in everyone’s life as it helps in staying in touch with his contacts at any point and time. However, cell phones are expensive. Manufacturing a cell phone proves pricey for both, the user and the environment. If we make our cell phones last longer this price may be reduced. The cell phone has to be kept away from extreme temperature as extreme heat or cold will damage the phone. Protect the phone with a cover and avoid keeping it near heat or water. Charge the phone only when required and turn it off when not in use.

7. Laptop:

For maintaining laptop’s battery power you should put it in “Sleep” or “hibernate” mode when it is not in use. The laptop should be kept away from extreme temperature. Power- draining system should be turned off or limited. Also, you should be cautious of energy hogging background programs.
